This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of southern
Illinois, southwest Indiana, western Kentucky, and southeast
Missouri.

.DAY ONE...This Afternoon and Tonight


A chance for thunderstorms remain this afternoon and evening.
Primary hazards will be lightning and locally heavy rainfall.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday


Daily chances of afternoon and evening storm chances carry through
much of next week. There is also a period of strong to severe
storms possible Tuesday through Wednesday. Locally heavy rainfall
is also expected with the potential for localized flash flooding
due to repeated rounds of rainfall.

Missouri...Illinois...

Mississippi River at Cape Girardeau and Thebes

.River levels are peaking along the Mississippi River this weekend
and will fall below flood stage next week.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Mississippi River at Cape Girardeau.

* WHEN...Until early Friday morning.

* IMPACTS...At 36.0 feet, The flood gate on Themis Street closes.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 9:00 AM CDT Saturday the stage was 34.2 feet.
- Forecast...The river will hold steady around 34.2 feet today
and then gradually begin to fall. It will go below flood
stage Thursday evening.
- Flood stage is 32.0 feet.
